KRITIK SENI HOLISTIK TERHADAP DENDANG MINANGKABAU

Art criticism is an activity to evaluate a work of art with the aim of making the artwork more perfect. One of the ways of doing art criticism is art criticism with a holistic approach. By using holistic art criticism, one can judge a work of art based on three components, namely the artist, the work of art, and the art connoisseur, so that it can be seen how the interactions that occur between the three components. While the Minangkabau dance is a work of art that is sung to the accompaniment of typical Minangkabau music such as talempong and also saluang. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, where a description of holistic art criticism of Minangkabau dance is carried out and the sampling technique used is purposive sampling. In this study, a holistic art critique of Minangkabau dances was carried out so that the results obtained in Minangkabau dances were still using the traditional way in their performances so that they are currently unable to compete with modern music. Therefore, briefings were made to the community regarding the importance of understanding and carrying out a holistic art critique, especially in order to preserve the Minangkabau dance culture. One way is to hone the skills, ethics, and understanding of Minangkabau dance activists so that they can make Minangkabau dance better. Keywords: holistic criticism, minangkabau dance. AbstrakKritik seni merupakan suatu kegiatan melakukan penilaian terhadap suatu karya seni dengan tujuan agar karya seni tersebut menjadi lebih sempurna. Cara melakukan kritik seni beraneka ragam salah satunya yaitu kritik seni dengan pendekatan holistik. Dengan menggunakan kritik seni holistik dapat menilai suatu karya seni berdasarkan tiga komponen yaitu seniman, karya seni, dan para penikmat seni, sehingga dapat diketahui bagaimana interaksi yang terjadi antara tiga komponen tersebut. Sedangkan dendang Minangkabau merupakan suatu karya seni yang dinyanyikan dengan iringan musik khas Minangkabau seperti talempong dan juga saluang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kualitatif, dilakukan pendeskripsian mengenai kritik seni holistik terhadap dendang Minangkabau serta teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan kritik seni holistik pada dendang Minangkabau sehingga didapatkan hasil dalam dendang Minangkabau masih menggunakan cara tradisional dalam pementasannya sehingga saat sekarang kalah bersaing dengan musik modern. Oleh sebab itu dilakukan pengarahan kepada masyarakat terkait pentingnya memahami dan melakukan suatu kritik seni holistik khususnya supaya dapat melestarikan kebudayaan daerah dendang Minangkabau.
