Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) merupakan kegiatan penting dalam Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yang mencakup salah satu kewajiban para dosen untuk berkontribusi bagi bangsa dan negara dalam memenuhi tuntutan perkembangan dan kemajuan di berbagai aspek kehidupan masyarakat. Berdasarkan hasil observasi terhadap Saung Qur™an dan Kitab Kuning (SQKK) As-Sakinah yang berada di Gunung Sindur, Bogor, Kelompok PkM ini sepakat atas perlunya pengenalan dan penguatan kosakata Bahasa Inggris yang difokuskan terhadap imbuhan atau affixes. Kemampuan dalam memahami English Affixes sangatlah diperlukan karena hal tersebut dapat memperkaya wawasan para peserta didik dalam hal ini para santri di SQKK As-Sakinah mengenai pembentukan kata-kata dalam Bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, keterampilan berbahasa Inggris mereka akan menjadi lebih baik secara lisan maupun tulisan. Sebagaimana diketahui bahwa kemampuan berbahasa Inggris sangatlah dibutuhkan agar para generasi muda dapat mempersiapkan diri di era global. Kelompok PkM ini melakukan kegiatan yang diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif bagi para santri di lembaga tersebut, khususnya tentang penguatan English affixes atau imbuhan dalam Bahasa Inggris yang mencakup prefixes atau awalan dan suffixes atau akhiran. Untuk membuat proses belajar menjadi menyenangkan, proses pengenalan dan peningkatan English Affixes dilakukan dengan menggunakan games dan cerita pendek. Hal tersebut sejalan dengan bidang keilmuan Fakultas Sastra, Program Studi Sastra Inggris, Universitas Pamulang, khususnya mata kuliah Linguistics tentang Morphology.References
