Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

  1. Papers can be in the form of research results or conceptual writings.
  2. The paper is typed using MS Word with the number of pages not exceeding 14 sheets in A4 format - single-sided paper, one space, two columns, top margin (2.54 cm), bottom (2.54 cm), left (2.54 cm). cm) and right (2.54 cm).
  3. The font used is Book Antiqua 11pt.
  4. The material in the paper includes the title, abstract, name of the author, institution, introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusion, bibliography, and appendix.
  5. Each part of the material content does not need to be numbered chapter.
  6. Papers can be written in Indonesian or in English.
  7. The abstract is written in Indonesian and English with a maximum word count of 200 words.
  8. I am writing label titles using left-aligned ones at the top of the table and number.
  9. The font size in the table must be smaller than the body font size.
  10. Writing the image's title is positioned at the bottom of the image and uses the centre alignment.
  11. Papers are sent to the editor of the Geography Journal, Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Medan no later than one month before publication.
