Abstract

Abstrak  Batik tradisional, yang diangkat dari akar budaya daerah, kaya akan muatan kearifan lokal yang dilukiskan dalam œbahasa batik. Batik sebagai salah satu kekayaan budaya perlu pemaknaan baru untuk ditrasformasikan kepada generasi muda  Berbicara tentang batik tradisional sama dengan berbicara tentang nilai-nilai. Nilai-nilai dalam batik tradisional diangkat dari proses akultrasi budaya jawa,hindu, dan islam serta pengaruhnya budaya pendatang. Salah satu motif batik tradisional adalah batik keladi.  Dalam penelitian ini ditunjukkan bahwa batik tradisional keladi mengandung nilai kearifan lokal yang dilukiskan dalam motif/corak ,warnadan fungsinya. Motif keladi ini menggambarkan tatanan kehidupan masyarakat yang ideal.Motif ini mengandung pesan agar seseorang menjadi manusia yang unggul, baik, dan bermamfaat bagi sesama manusia. Kata kunci:kearifan lokal, batik tradisional jambi.
