BAGAIMANA SIKAP DAN PENDEKATAN TRANSITIONAL NOVICE TERHADAP PENYELESAIAN MASALAH FISIKA?

Pembelajaran fisika memiliki tujuan agar mahasiswa mampu menerapkan konsep dan hukum fisika dalam proses penyelesaian masalah fisika. Belajar fisika dan menyelesaikan masalah fisika dipengaruhi sikap dan pendekatan mahasiswa pada masalah fisika. Selain novice dan expert, dalam penyelesaian masalah fisika terdapat istilah transitioning novice. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi sikap dan pendekatan yang digunakan oleh Transitioning novice jika dihadapkan pada masalah fisika. Survei cross-sectional dilakukan pada Sikap dan Pendekatan terhadap Penyelesaian Masalah. Sampel penelitian adalah 88 mahasiswa melalui teknik purposive sampling yaitu mahasiswa masuk dalam kategori transitioning novice. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah hasil adaptasi Attitude and Approach to Problem Solving (AAPS). Hasil survei dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif menggunakan persentase dan tabulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa responden menunjukkan ciri novice dan ciri expert dalam hal sikap dan pendekatan terhadap penyelesaian masalah fisika. Mahasiswa yang menjadi responden menunjukkan sedang berada pada fase transitional novice. Ciri transitional novice yang menonjol pada penelitian ini adalah cara pandang terhadap rumus fisika dan masalah fisika yang masih dianggap sebagai masalah matematis, keterbatasan dalam mengidentifikasi konsep, melakukan evaluasi terhadap proses penyelesaian masalah dan solusinya, dan berkolaborasi dalam penyelesaian masalahReferences
