PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MASALAH DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA MTS ISLAMIYAH GUPPI MEDAN

Jenis penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah pada materi pecahan di kelas VII. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII MTs Swasta GUPPI yang berjumlah 28 orang. Objek penelitian ini adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menerapkan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika pada materi pecahan. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus dan pada setiap akhir siklus peneliti memberikan sebuah tes untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data setelah pemberian tindakan pada siklus I diperoleh sebanyak 1 siswa (3,57%) memiliki kemampuan berpikir sangat kritis, 5 siswa (17,85%) yang memiliki kemampuan kritis, 11 siswa (39,29%) yang memiliki kemampuan cukup kritis dan 11 siswa (39,29%) berada pada kategori tidak kritis. Dari hasil tersebut terlihat bahwa 17 siswa (60,71%) dari 28 siswa telah mencapai standar berpikir kritis yang ditargetkan, yaitu siswa yang memperoleh nilai ≥ 70 dengan nilai rata-rata kelas adalah 65,93. Kemudian setelah diberikan siklus II diperoleh peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Dari hasil analisis kemampuan berpikir kritis setelah dilakukan siklus II diperoleh sebanyak 10 siswa (35,71%) memiliki kemampuan sangat kritis, 9 siswa (32,14%) memiliki kemampuan kritis, 5 siswa (17,85%) memiliki kemampuan cukup kritis dan 4 siswa (14,30%) berada dalam kategori tidak kritis. Dari hasil tersebut terlihat bahwa terdapat 24 siswa yang mencapai standar berpikir kritis yang ditargetkan, yaitu siswa yang memperoleh nilai ≥ 70 dan nilai rata-rata kelas 83,24 sehingga kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII tergolong kritis. Berdasarkan uraian-uraian di atas disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dapat meningkat dengan menerapkan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah pada materi pecahan. Abstract The category of this research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which aims to improve student™s critical thinking skills in mathematics learning by applying the Problem Based Learning model for fractions subject in class VII. The subjects in this study were VII grade students of GUPPI MTs in Medan which numbered 28 people. The object of this research is the students' critical thinking ability by applying the Problem Based Learning model in mathematics learning to fraction material. This study consisted of 2 cycles while at the end of each cycle the researcher creates a test to measure students critical thinking skills. Based on data analysis after conducting the action on the first cycle, there were 1 student (3.57%) having a very critical thinking skills, 5 students (17.85%) who had the critical abilities, 11 students (39.29%) who had the sufficient ability critical and 11 students (39.29%) were in the uncritical category. From these results, it can be seen that 17 students (60.71%) out of 28 students have reached the standard of critical thinking that is targeted, namely students who get a value of ≥ 70 with a class average value of 65.93. Furthermore, the second cycle exhibits an increment on students critical thinking skills. Based on the results, the analysis of critical thinking skills after the second cycle was showed 10 students (35.71%) had higher critical abilities, 9 students (32.14%) had normal critical abilities, 5 students (17.85%) had lower critical abilities and 4 students (14.30%) had the uncritical category. From these results, it can be seen that there are 24 students who have the target of critical thinking which had been targeted, namely students who got a value of ≥ 70 and a class average value of 83.24 which leads to the critical thinking skills of class VII students are classified as critical. Based on the descriptions above, it can be concluded that students critical thinking skills could be improved by applying the Problem Based Learning model for fractions subject.References
