Jumlah yang sesuai dan waktu yang tepat merupakan titik krusial dalam distribusi. Perum BULOG Sub Divre Medan sebagai wakil pemerintah Sumatera Utara dalam melakukan pemerataan dan distribusi beras, tentunya harus memperhatikan pola distribusi yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimasi biaya distribusi beras miskin (RASKIN) pada Perum BULOG Sub Divre Medan dengan menggunakan metode Stepping Stone dari lima gudang perusahaan menuju enam kabupaten dan kota di wilayah Sumatera Utara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa penerapan metode transportasi dengan menggunakan metode Stepping Stone dapat menghemat biaya transportasi pada Perum BULOG Sub Divre Medan dari Rp 954.283.688,22 menjadi Rp 949.385.894,9 sehingga menghemat biaya sebesar Rp 4.897.793,32. Kata kunci: Metode Stepping Stone. ABSTRACT The ability to manage a good distribution network is very important for the industry. Improper distribution will have a big impact on all companies. The appropriate amount and the right time is a crucial point in distribution. Medan Sub Division of BULOG Sub Division as the representative of the North Sumatra government in the distribution and distribution of rice, in accordance with the optimal distribution pattern. This study aims to optimize the cost of distributing poor rice (RASKIN) in the Medan Sub Division of BULOG by using the Stepping Stone method from the five warehouse companies to six districts and cities in North Sumatra. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the method of transportation using the Stepping Stone method can save transportation costs in the Medan Sub-Division BULOG from Rp. 954,283,688.22 to Rp. 949,385,894.9, thus saving costs of Rp. 4,897,793.32.
