Penelitian yang berjudul Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Inquiry Training Terhadap Kemampuan higher order thinking skills Siswa SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Medan telah dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan HOTS siswa dalam pembelajaran fisika serta mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran Inquiry Training terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimen dengan two group pretest-postest design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara cluster random sampling dari 3 kelas secara acak yaitu kelas X Mia 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X Mia 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk essay test. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji t dua pihak dan uji t satu pihak. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Inquiry Training terhadap kemampuan higher order thinking skills pada materi impuls, momentum, dan tumbukan dan siswa tergolong aktif dalam pembelajaran menggunakan inquiry training.References
