Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran fisika berbasis problem based learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa di kelas X semester II pada materi pokok momentum dan impuls SMA Swasta Al Ulum Medan T.P 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi experiment. Populasi penelitian siswa kelas X semester II SMA Swasta Al Ulum Medan yang terdiri dari empat kelas. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling dan diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda, kelas X MIA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan pembelajaran berbasis problem based learning dan X MIA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah berupa tes essay terdiri 8 item dan diperoleh hasil postes dengan hasil rata-rata kelas eksperimen 74,42 dan kelas kontrol 69,94. Teknik analisis digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu uji t. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 2,023>1,997 menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan menerapkan pembelajaran fiska berbasis problem based learning.
