MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN MIND MAPPING DI KELAS VIII-1 SMP NEGERI 2 KUTALIMBARU TAHUN AJARAN 2018/2019

Abstract: Improving Student Learning Outcomes Using Mind Mapping Learning Media in Class Viii-1 SMP Negeri 2 Kutalimbaru Academic Year 2018/2019. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Kutalimbaru using Mind Mapping learning media with the main objective of improving student learning outcomes in social studies with the subject matter of the Struggle to Defend Independence in Class VIII-1 of SMP Negeri 4 Tanjung Morawa. The formulation of the research problem is whether using Mind Mapping learning media can improve learning outcomes for Class VIII-1 students of SMP Negeri 2 Kutalimbaru for the 2018/2019 academic year. This type of research is classroom action research. The number of students who were the sample of this study was 37 people, 18 male students and 19 female students, all of whom came from the Tanjung Morawa 4 Middle School Class for the 2018/2019 academic year when the activity was taking place. There are two stages taken, starting from planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting, by conducting the initial test for the first time. From the results of the pretest, it was found that students who achieved the completeness level were 1 person or 2.70% and as many as 36 students or 97.29% had not achieved the expected completeness of learning with an average value of 38.10. The next stage was the cycle I test and the average score of the students was 61.6 with a classical learning rate of 15 students (40.54%). Then the test was carried out in the second cycle, it was found that out of 37 students, 33 students (89.18%) and as many as 4 students (10.81%) had not reached the completeness level. From the classical completeness in the second cycle it was obtained 89.18%. From the results of the research findings above, it can be concluded that the proposed hypothesis is that using Mind Mapping learning media can improve student learning outcomes in social studies lessons in Class VIII-1 of SMP Negeri 2 Kutalimbaru for the 2018/2019 academic year. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Kutalimbaru dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Mind Mapping dengan sasaran utama yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran IPS dengan materi pokok Perjuangan Mempertahankan Kemerdekaan di Kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 4 Tanjung Morawa. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah apakah dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Mind Mapping dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa Kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 2 Kutalimbaru Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Jumlah siswa yang menjadi sampel penelitian ini adalah 37 orang dimana laki-laki 18 orang siswa dan perempuan 19 orang siswa yang seluruhnya berasal dari Kelas SMP Negeri 4 Tanjung Morawa Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019 pada saat kegiatan sedang berlangsung. Tahapan yang dilakukan terdapat dua siklus yang dimulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi adalah dengan melakukan tes awal untuk pertama kalinya. Dari hasil pretes tersebut, diperoleh bahwa siswa yang mencapai tingkat ketuntasan sebanyak 1 orang atau 2,70 % dan sebanyak 36 siswa atau 97,29 % belum mencapai ketuntasan belajar yang diharapkan dengan nilai rata-rata 38,10. Tahap selanjutnya dilakukan tes siklus I dan diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa 61,6 dengan tingkat belajar secara klasikal sebanyak 15 siswa (40,54 %). Kemudian dilakukan tes pada siklus II diperoleh bahwa dari 37 siswa diperoleh tingkat ketuntasan sebanyak 33 siswa (89,18%) dan sebanyak 4 siswa (10,81%) belum mencapai tinngkat ketuntasan. Dari ketuntasan secara klasikal pada siklus II diperoleh sebesar 89,18 %. Dari hasil temuan penelitian di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan yaitu dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran Mind Mapping dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pelajaran IPS di Kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 2 Kutalimbaru Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019.
