ANALISIS MISKONSEPSI SISWA PADA KONSEP IPA KELAS IV DI SD NEGERI MAJALAYA (Kecamatan Tunjungteja, Kabupaten Serang)

Abstract : The aims of this study is to find out students™ misconception on the concept of science at fourth grade of SDN Majalaya, the percentage and also the causes of misconception experienced by the students. This study used descriptive method with quantitative approach and a set of steps and standard procedures as the guide for the researcher, using a closed research design which had been perfectly structured from the start. The data collected in this study including unstructured interviewers, students™ misconceptions questioners, and the two-tier test multiple choice instrument by dividing students™ conceptual understanding in to three levels of categories, namely: 1) student know the concepts, 2) misconceptions, 3) student didn™t know the concept. The result of this study indicated that students who knew the concepts reach an average percentage of 21%, misconceptions 37%, and students who didn™t know the concept as much as 42%, meanwhile the percentage of students who experienced the most dominant misconception occur in question number 1 with 52%. Moreover, this study found that the cause of the misconception came from students™ understanding and the learning method used by the teacher.Keywords : Ttwo-tier test, Misconceptions, and Science.Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui miskonsepsi siswa terhadap konsep IPA di kelas IV B SD Negeri Majalaya, mengetahui persentase serta penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan serangkaian langkah-langkah atau prosedur baku yang menjadi pegangan para peneliti dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian tertutup, sudah tersusun sempurna sejak awal. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini meliputi wawancara tidak terstruktur, angket miskonsepsi siswa, dan instrumen Two-Tier Test Multiple Choice dengan membagi pemahaman konsep siswa menjadi tiga tingkatan kategori, yaitu: 1) Tahu Konsep, 2) Miskonsepsi, dan 3) Tidak Tahu Konsep. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor penyebab miskonsepsi berasal dari pemahaman siswa dan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan guru. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas IV A dengan jumlah 28 siswa mengalami pemahaman yang tidak sesuai dengan konsep ahli atau sering disebut dengan miskonsepsi. Persentase rata-rata siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi sebanyak 37%. Sedangkan siswa yang Tidak Tahu Konsep rata-rata persentasenya sebesar 42% dan yang tahu konsep hanya mencapai 21%. Persentase siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi paling dominan terjadi pada butir soal nomor 1, yakni 52%.Kata Kunci: Konsep IPA, Miskonsepsi, Two-tier testDownloads
