ABSTRAKKenyataan yang peneliti hadapi masih banyak peseta didik kelas II yang mengalami kesulitan melakukan operasi perkalian dua bilangan 6 “ 10. Dari hasil pengamatan dan tes hasil belajar 2 tahun terakhir tentang perkalian dua bilangan 6-10 sebagian besar peserta didik masih lambat dalam mengoperasikan perkalian bilangan 6-10, hal itu berlanjut sampai di kelas III. Pada tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 ini, dari hasil ulangan harian tentang operasi hitung perkalian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata kelas 59, ada 9 dari 16 anak mendapatkan nilai di bawah KKM yang telah ditetapkan yakni 61, berarti 56% peserta didik kelas II tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 mengalami kesulitan berhitung perkalian bilangan 6-10.Kata kunci: teknik jaritmatika, teknik berhitung, matematika.
