SUMBANGAN ISLAM TERHADAP SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI

ABSTRAK Sains Islam adalah sains yang dikembangkan oleh kaum muslimin sejak abad Islam ke-2 hingga ke-9 (+ 7 abad), merupakan peradaban yang paling produktif dibandingkan dengan peradaban manapun diwilayah sains, dan sains Islam berada di garda depan berbagai kegiatan keilmuan, mulai dari bidang kedokteran sampai astronomi. Masa ini disebut juga dengan masa klasik, karenan hasil temuan saintis muslim tersebut memiliki kualitas prima serta menjadi dasar tolak ukur pengetahuan keilmuan sampai hari ini. Perhatian yang tinggi terhadap ilmu pengetahuan telah tumbuh dikalangan umat Islam sejak masa yang paling awal, sebab hal ini sejalan dengan anjuran al-qur™an dan hadis Nabi SAW.
